Happy New Year! Let's make 2016 a remarkable year!

For me the start of a new year is the time to set new goals. When I saw Leslie Saeta's post asking artists to join the "30 Paintings in 30 Days" Challenge I knew I was ready for this as my commitment to begin 2016!  This challenge will keep me painting each day, and that sounds great! It will also encourage me to meet my goal to blog more routinely.

I invite you to follow along as I paint "Traversing the Atlantic, inspired by travels in New England and in Europe"

For the month of January I will be blogging about my daily paintings and posting on my personal and business Facebook pages. I will also be posting to Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/cook.betsypayne/

As part of this challenge I will also be posting on Leslie Saeta's Blog. Leslie has coordinated over 700 artists in 29 countries from around the world who have all taken the challenge to paint daily for the month of January.

Wish me luck! 2016 is off to a fun start!

I make a valiant effort to paint all year long. The different seasons present their own unique benefits but winter really does come with added challenges.  This past Saturday I took a group of painters out to Sandy Neck Beach "Halfway House" to spend the day painting.  We had a spell of record highs, with temperatures getting into the mid 50s. The day we headed out was the coldest one of the week, chilly wind with a high of 40. We retreated to the hut, to sit by the wood stove, warm up with a hot drink and soup. Warm clothes, good company, the day was a success!
